    Takata recall more marques affected in Australia

    The global recall of Takata faulty airbag inflators continues to snowball, with  at least two more car-makers now affected on Australian turf.

    Joining Japanese brands Honda, Nissan and Toyota in the latest round of recalls  is Chrysler and Subaru, adding at least 38,000 vehicles to the expanding list  of vehicles that will require replacement parts in Australia.

    Transport launches action against Uber drivers

    WA’S Department of Transport has ramped up its action against ride-sharing smartphone app Uber, launching 19 more prosecutions against its drivers.

    A department spokeswoman said on Tuesday the 19 prosecutions were initiated earlier this month for failing to comply with a lawful direction of an authorised officer under the Taxi Act 1994.

  • ACCC Grilling Jeep Dealers

    MTA WA is warning dealers to be aware of their obligations under the Australian Consumer Laws (ACL) after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) launched investigations into Jeep parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) over allegations it mislead consumers.

    The ACCC is now speaking to dealers and disgruntled buyers about allegations FCA has mislead customers over consumer guarantees.
