Investigations by Toyota Motor Corporation have determined that a requirement exists for the initiation of a Safety Related Recall Campaign to rectify a condition affecting the Seat Belt Mounting Bolt on Tarago (ACR50 & GSR50) which were sold in Australia.

Description of Problem

Tarago vehicles in the Australian market are equipped with a rear view camera as a Toyota genuine accessory equipment installed at the port facilities in Australia.

During the installation of the rear view camera, anchor bolts used to mount the left side seatbelts are removed and re-installed.

Due to the improper process of re-tightening the bolts, there is a possibility that the tightening torque could be insufficient.

An incorrectly torqued seat belt anchorage bolt can compromise seat belt performance.
