2018

WA STATE AWARDS

Applicable only to businesses covered by the STATE system - i.e. those businesses who are a non-constitutional corporation such as a sole trader, partnership or some forms of trusts.

The Western Australian Industrial Relations’ Commission issued their decision today in the WA State Wage Case, awarding an increase of $18.00 per week to all minimum rates of pay under Western Australian State Awards.  The increase of  $18.00 per week, or 47 cents per hour to a new rate of pay of $726.90  per week, or $19.12 per hour.

The increase is to be effective from the first full pay period on or after 1st July 2018.

As a result of this increase, the State Wage remains higher than the Federal Minimum wage by $7.70 per week. Last week the Federal wage increased by 3.5 % or by $24.30 to $719.20 per week.

Wage Schedules reflecting the new resulting award rates of pay will be published on the MTAWA web site at the end of this month.
