About the role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our growing franchise workshop team. This role is critical to delivering an excellent customer experience while supporting workshop efficiency and profitability.

The successful candidate will act as the key link between customers and the workshop, ensuring clear communication, accurate job management, and professional service delivery from booking through to vehicle handover.

This position is suited to someone with strong organisational skills, automotive knowledge, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers professionally and manage vehicle service and repair bookings.
  • Accurately assess customer concerns and translate them into clear workshop job instructions.
  • Prepare and explain quotes, obtain customer authorisations, and manage job progress updates.
  • Liaise closely with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis, efficient workflow, and timely completion of work.
  • Communicate repair findings, recommendations, and costs clearly to customers.
  • Ensure all job cards, invoices, and service records are completed accurately using workshop management software.
  • Promote preventative maintenance and additional services where appropriate, with a customer focused approach.
  • Handle customer queries or concerns professionally and escalate issues where required.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, warranty, and franchise procedures.
  • Contribute to team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organised front-of-house and service reception area.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an automotive service advisor, service receptionist, or similar customer-facing role.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of automotive servicing and repair processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and invoicing.
  • Competent computer skills (workshop management systems, email, basic data entry).
  • Professional presentation and a positive, team-focused attitude.
  • Great communication skills, with a passion for engaging with people from all walks of life.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a franchise or multi-brand workshop environment.
  • Mechanical or technical background (trade qualified or previously worked in a workshop).
  • Familiarity with European vehicle servicing.
  • Experience upselling preventative maintenance in a customer-focused manner.
