As the peak Automotive Retail representative body in Western Australia, the Motor Trade Association of WA (Inc) has received requests from automotive dealers to be allowed to open for trade on the Anzac Day Gazetted public holiday on the 27^th of April 2020.

This request was made in light of the current COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent substantial loss of trade that has resulted from this crisis.

I wrote to the Commissioner of Consumer Protection seeking approval and I am very pleased to report that the Commissioner has advised that as a once off, that both metropolitan and regional dealers will be able to open on the Anzac Day Gazetted public holiday of Monday 27^th April 2020 from 8am – 6pm. 

Dealers must understand that you cannot trade on Saturday 25^th April 2020.

It is up to the individual dealer whether you open or not, it is not compulsory to open on Monday 27^th April 2020.
