MTA WA members were recently invited to attend an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of TyreCycle’s state-of-the-art tyre recycling facility in East Rockingham - an educational and engaging experience that showcased how innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.
A Look Inside TyreCycle
Hosted on-site at one of Australia’s leading tyre recycling facilities, the tour gave attendees a detailed look into the lifecycle of end-of-life tyres. From collection and processing through to their transformation into valuable resources - including different sized rubber crumb and steel - the experience highlighted the impressive scale of TyreCycle’s operations and their commitment to sustainable solutions.
Innovation Driving Impact
Members were particularly impressed by the technology, infrastructure, and environmental impact of the facility. The visit demonstrated how waste materials can be reimagined and reintegrated into other industries - significantly reducing landfill waste and carbon emissions in the process.
This tour was more than just an eye-opener into tyre recovery processes; it served as a powerful reminder of the importance of innovation in building a more sustainable automotive sector.
