Plan Ahead for Licence Renewals - National Police Checks

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety's Automotive and Marine Department is urging businesses to plan ahead, given the current delays in processing National Police Checks, which is a necessary document that accompanies licence applications and renewals. 

CONSUMER PROTECTION RELEASE:

Plan for licence renewals and apply for your National Police Check early to avoid delays 

When it comes time to renew your occupational licence, Consumer Protection is reminding industry to avoid leaving applications until the last minute given it may take up to a month (or more) to receive national police checks from third-party providers. 

With police checks being valid for up to three months, you can start the process of obtaining one at least two months before submitting your complete licensing application to us. To ensure you always have a valid certificate, you should allow sufficient time for your complete application to be processed before your licence expires.
