Introducing Our New CEO: Neil Le Febvre

The Motor Trade Association of Western Australia (MTA WA) is pleased to welcome Neil Le Febvre as our new Group Chief Executive Officer, commencing 8 December 2025.

Neil steps into the role at a pivotal time for the motoring sector; a period defined by rapid technological change, shifting consumer expectations, and critical workforce challenges. With more than three decades of leadership experience across finance, operations, member-based organisations, and government engagement, he brings a proven ability to guide industries through complex transformation.

A Leader Built for Evolving Industries

Neil has spent his career moving between industries, learning their unique pressures, and building teams capable of delivering measurable outcomes. His experience spans HBF Health Insurance, the Craig Mostyn Group, and, most recently, as CEO of Outdoors WA, where he led statewide and national initiatives to strengthen industry capability, influence government decision-making, and unite stakeholders behind shared priorities.

“What motivates me is understanding an industry’s dynamics — its challenges, its opportunities — and working collaboratively to find solutions that help it thrive,” Neil said.

A Collaborative, Evidence-Based Approach

From revitalising a health fund’s brand and reconnecting it with members using deep behavioural insights, to steering national policy conversations in the outdoor industry, Neil’s leadership style centres on listening first, then acting with clarity and purpose.

“Advocacy is about understanding the problem from multiple angles and supporting your position with evidence. It’s something I’ve had to do in every leadership role,” he explained.

A Strong Focus on Workforce Development

Neil has a particular passion for supporting workforce pathways and apprentice retention.

“The MTA WA stands out for its leadership in developing and supporting apprentices for the industry. This represents a unique point of difference for us to continue to strengthen and grow,” he said.

Committed to Listening, Learning and Engaging

Neil is looking forward to meeting members, host employers, apprentices, and industry partners across the state as he builds a firsthand understanding of the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

“We are here for the members, and it’s important that we’re having the right conversations to ensure we are achieving their goals,” he said.

Outside of work, Neil is an avid endurance athlete, having competed in ultramarathons and Ironman events. “If it isn’t hard, it isn’t fun,” he jokes; a mindset that has shaped much of his professional and personal life.

We look forward to working with Neil as we continue advancing the interests of Western Australia’s automotive industry.
