WA’s motor trade industry peak body has today kicked off an 8-day business mission to promote its industry-leading training courses and explore other opportunities for investment and trade with India.

Partnering with the Phoenix Academy, the MTA WA has joined WA’s largest ever business delegation to India, led by State Development, Jobs and Trade Minister Roger Cook and International Education Minister David Templeman.

CEO Stephen Moir said the mission will open the MTA WA’s highly regarded training to its first international market and forge strong partnerships with India’s automotive sector.

“The MTA WA has a proud history of delivering cutting edge training, support and advocacy for thousands of members of the local motor trade industry for 88 years,” Mr Moir said.

“The WA Government’s Invest and Trade Mission to India 2022 is an outstanding opportunity to expand the reach of our locally developed, world-class products and services while fuelling important new strategic relationships.”

“Over the next week, the MTA WA team will visit four Indian cities where they will meet leaders and representatives from not only the education sector, but importantly, also the automotive sector.”

“MTA WA Training Manager Mel Greenhow and Chief Information Officer Tony Cawley are the perfect pair to promote our industry leading courses such as those in Battery and Hybrid technology and discuss broader opportunities for future collaboration,” Mr Moir said.
