The Electrical Accessory Fitting Course have been designed to allow students to develop the underpinning knowledge required to demonstrate an understanding of the requirements and legislation of an electrical accessory fitter in Western Australia. Successful completion of this course will meet the requirements of the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety to issue a Repairer’s Certificate, which allows the license holder to work within the class of repair work identified.
The course consists of 4 modules:
- Safety and Environment
- Mechanical Tools and Equipment
- Communications and Parts Selection
- Electrical Accessories
The Electrical Accessories module covers the fitting of electrical accessories that are not standard on a vehicle. Examples include wiring for tow bars, installation of a refrigerator/12 outlet, caravan 12 volt accessories, car/caravan vehicle spotlights, or sets of lights.
