MTA WA Open Day – Saturday 29 August | Balcatta Training Facility
Join us for the MTA WA Open Day on Saturday 29 August at our Balcatta Training Facility – and be part of the official WA State Kick-Off for National Skills Week 2026!
This is a free, fun, and interactive event open to students, families, and anyone curious about a career in the automotive industry. Whether you’re in Years 10–12, exploring your options after school, or simply passionate about cars, trucks, and technology – this is the day for you.
The Day at a Glance
Formalities kick off at 10:00am, including a Keynote Address by the Minister and a panel discussion exploring this year’s National Skills Week theme: “Life Changing.” The Open Day officially opens at 11:30am, with activities running through to 3:30pm.
From midday, explore sponsor marquees, grab lunch from one of our on-site food trucks, and get hands-on with live training demonstrations led by MTA WA trainers. You’ll also get the chance to watch Auto Electrical apprentices compete live in the State WorldSkills Competition – a highlight not to be missed.
