Tools for Calculating Employee Entitlements

The Fair Work Commission has developed a range of calculators to help employers in the federal workplace relations system to calculate pay and other employee entitlements.

Pay Calculator

The Pay Calculator calculates base pay rates, allowances and penalty rates (including overtime). This calculator can be found here:

Leave Calculator

The Leave Calculator calculates:

  • annual leave
  • annual leave loading
  • sick and carer’s leave.

Employers can use the Leave Calculator to find out how much annual leave and sick and carer’s leave has accumulated under the relevant award or under the National Employment Standards (NES). This calculator can be found here:

Notice and Redundancy Calculator

The Notice and Redundancy Calculator calculates entitlements when employment ends, including:

  • notice to be given (by employer or employee)
  • redundancy pay

WA long service leave calculator

In addition, there is the WA long service leave calculator which can provide an estimate of an employee’s long service leave entitlement when employment ends as a result of resignation, dismissal, death or redundancy. This calculator can be found here:
