Australia Day Trading 2019

Many queries have been received from MTA WA members regarding Australia Day Trading in 2019. 
 

The Public and Bank Holidays Act (which Labour Relations administer), states that Australia Day is – 26th January or where that day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday.

As this year’s Australia Day falls on Saturday 26th January, Monday 28th January is considered the statutory public holiday and Saturday 26th January will remain as a normal trading day for businesses.
