Big issues raised at national meeting

21 September 2022 | MTA WA News

Automotive Repair Division Chairman Mark Taylor from Automark and MTA WA Senior Division Manager Graham Cawley attended a national meeting in Sydney last week where a number of important issues were raised and discussed, including:

  • Emissions testing for in-service vehicles to help minimise greenhouse emissions in the existing fleet;
  • Update of the VSB 14 Nation Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification and in particular, allowing ride height increases from 50mm to 75mm without requiring re-certification;
  • End of life and shortage issues with tyres;
  • Sharing service and repair information;
  • Electric Vehicle policy; and
  • Managing the current skills shortage.

Keep an eye open for news about progress on these issues. In the meantime, members who think they can contribute to the solution are encouraged to get in touch with the MTA WA team.
