Recent changes have been made to the Federal Vehicle Manufacturing, Repair, Services and Retail Award 2010 in regard to Casual Employment Minimum Engagement.

Fair work Commission
 

The variations made are as follows under the Fair Work Act 2009 :

Casual employment and Part-time employment- minimum engagement for casual employees – Vehicle Manufacturing, Repair, Services and Retail Award 2010.

Further to the Full Bench decision issued by the Fair Work Commission on 9 August 2018, the above award is varied as follows:

  •  13.5 A casual employee must be engaged and paid for at least 2 consecutive hours of work on each occasion they are required to attend work

*This determination comes into operation from 1 October 2018. In accordance with s.165(3) of the Fair Work Act 2009, these items do not take effect until the start of the first full pay period on or after 1 October 2018.
